Kayak Camping
An opportunity to camp on Grand Island. The group will plan the trip, load boats with provisions and gear and paddle across to Grand Island. Set up camp and work on paddling skills along the way.Â

Our low student-to-coach ratios mean we can meet you where you are and take full advantage of the environment each day. This sea kayaking trip is designed to challenge you in ways that are accessible and fun, with real progress you can feel.
We will focus on ocean kayaking skills, trip planning, and leadership.Â

This two day kayak camping course to Grand Island on Lake Superior is designed for paddlers who want to build real world trip planning and leadership skills in a dynamic Great Lakes environment. This is not a guided tour. Students actively participate in planning, decision making, and on water leadership throughout the course.
Food, gear and provisions are on your own. If you need a boat or paddling gear, we can arrange that.Â

What to Expect
Students will paddle from the mainland to Grand Island, carrying all necessary camping equipment. Once on the island, time is spent refining paddling skills, exploring appropriate shoreline routes, and practicing leadership scenarios before returning to camp. Instruction continues throughout the second day with additional paddling, skill refinement, and the return crossing.
