Join us for an amazing weekend paddling long boats in current on the St. Mary’s River. Our focus will be on boat handling in current, developing the skills needed to paddle in the tidal conditions of the ocean but right here at home. We will work on boat control in current, ferries, eddy turns. peel outs, self and group rescues PLUS a trip through the Soo Locks if conditions allow.
The St. Mary’s is a unique paddling venue with wide open crossings, swift current, Great Lakes Freighters (up close and personal) and rapids to play in below the locks.
We can also incorporate ACA Level 3 and Level 4 Skills Training as part of the Soo Locks weekend.
