Itinerary

There are several paddling options available in the area of the Straits. In addition to the group goals and desired outcomes, we will determine the plan for the weekend based on the current conditions of wind, waves, and weather.  We may cross the Straits under the Mackinac Bridge, paddle out to Mackinac Island for circumnavigation, surf, or explore Wilderness Point and the nearby Dark Sky Park.

ACA and BC Awards

The Straits area is a perfect venue for those looking to pursue the ACA Level 3 Skills Award or the British Canoeing Sea Kayak Award (formerly BCU 3 Star). We will have the opportunity for training for both awards and if we have conditions we could incorporate an assessment during the weekend. Contact us prior to the weekend if this is something you would be interested in. Email: info@thepowerofwater.net

*Additional BC fees apply for a successful assessment.

Amazing conditions and great opportunity to practice skills with other paddlers and responsive coaches

Great weekend of paddling in an unique environment.

Crossing under the bridge was amazing but the skills and confidence I gained working with the coaches in my group was invaluable.
