Build your skills in real-life conditions with multiple days of low-ratio coaching. Our team will partner with local friends who are some of the best coaches in the region. Based in Bryson City, NC there are opportunities for a variety of skills development. This is a 4 day trip of exploring, playing, and learning on some of the premier Class 2 and 3 rivers of the Southeast.
SKILL DEVELOPMENT
Our low student-coach ratios allow us to embrace the environment offering challenges that are accessible and fun. Some skills we might focus on include eddy turns, peel-outs, ferries, stern squirts, boofing, surfing, river running strategies, river safety, and rescues.
March 27th – 31st | $950
This skills development course is designed for paddlers looking to build solid river running and safety abilities in Class 2 whitewater and those wanting to gain the confidence to run Class 3. We’ll choose from a variety of rivers based on the needs of the group and local water levels. Possible rivers include Nantahala, Tuckaseegee, Pigeon, French Broad, Chattooga, or Little Tennessee.
What to Expect
The Bryson City area provides us with access to premier whitewater rivers. We will determine which river and which section of the river to run based on current conditions and our group’s goals and desired learning experience. With low-ratio professional coaching, we will have the opportunity to structure sessions that are reflective of the group. We stay together in double occupancy lodging in a house with breakfast and 3 dinners provided. We will eat out one of the nights which is not included.
As the trip gets closer keep an eye out for an email with more specifics and a waiver. Any questions can be sent to info@thepowerofwater.net
