PA River Fall Colors

The Youghiogheny  River, commonly referred to as just “The Yough” (pronounced “Yock”) in southwest Pennsylvania is one of the premier whitewater rivers within an easy day’s drive from Michigan.    This learning trip will help you hone your river running and playing skills on the Class 2 and Class 3 rapids of the Yough and other nearby rivers.

Our two summer Yough trips include camping and no food but for the Yough Fall Colors trip we are providing lodging in a rental home with 3 breakfasts and 3 dinners. Trip costs also include mandatory river usage and shuttle fees.

Possible itinerary:
House is available after 4pm Wednesday for those staying with us.

Day 1 meet at 10am for a warm up session on either the Cheat Narrows, the Yough, or Slip.
Day 2 – Full Lower or other choice (Middle, Stony, Slip, Casselman, Cheat)
Day 3 – Full Lower or other choice
Day 4 – Loop (early afternoon departure for home)

Paddlers should have some experience in Class 2 whitewater but need not have any prior Class 3 experience.
